2009 Ends with Dinner and Awards

FBC, Inc held it’s annual award dinner back in December. Over 100 employees and guest celebrated the end of another successful year. Safety Awards and Partners In Construction Awards were give to various individuals and sub-contractors.

SSEA II at Redstone Nears End

The System Software Engineering Annex Phase II project at Redstone Arsenal is nearing the end. It is scheduled to be completed around April 1, 2010. This project included two stories of office space and an extension to the existing high bay.

AEgis Technologies Receives C.O.

Recently the three story AEgis office building in Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, AL was delivered to the owners. The brand new building contained a clean room, work-out room, patio and more. It is located on Jan Davis Drive.

Independence Tube Tops Out

The 180,000 sq. ft. warehouse expansion at Independence Tube Corp. in Decatur recently topped out. Currently concrete floor are being placed and roof work continues.

Fite receives BBB Finalist Award for Ethics

On November 19th, 2009 Fite Building Co. received a Finalist Award for Marketplace Ethics from the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama. The Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics is designed to recognize businesses for the commitment to a fair and honorable operation. This award is open to all business in the North Alabama region.

Decatur Heritage Receives it’s CO

Decatur Heritage Christian Adademy has received it’s Certificate of Occupany. The school will makes it’s move to this new campus during the fall break. A speical thanks to J. Robert Fite, Anthony Wells and the entire team for a job well done.

Expansion at Independence Tube

Ground was broke on a 180,000 sq. ft. warehouse expansion at Independence Tube Corp. on August 24th, 2009. The scheduled completion date is May 2010. The project includes extending an existing crane bay and adding a brand new crane bay. FBC, Inc. constructed the original building, that was completed in 2006, under a design/build agreement.

Superintendents received 2008 awards

Annual safety awards were given by FBC to the following superintendents for their safety management efforts during 2008; John Abel, Tony Baugher, Darrell Burttram, Jason Claborn, Clarence Coan, Tom Glenn, John Grasty, Jerry Pike, Chris Scott, Anthony Wells and Mark Sullivan with Steel Erectors LLC.

 

2008 Partners In Construction Awards

 The following sub-contractors and suppliers received Partners in Construction Awards for 2008 from FBC; The McDonald Richard Co. Inc., North Al. Glass Co. Inc., Steel Erectors LLC, Construction Project Consulting, Witt’s Flooring Center, Hannah’s Lawn & Landscape Service Inc., Gobble Fite Lumber Co. Inc., Morard & Co. Inc., Interstate Steel Inc., Ram Tool & Supply Co. Inc., and Sherman Industries Inc.  For the first time, two architectural firms also received Partners in Construction Awards. They were, Fuqua & Partners Architects and Chapman Sisson Architects.
