Madison County Veterans Memorial

The Madison County Veterans Memorial in downtown Huntsville, AL is looking impressive. It has been a unique and challenging project with shaped concrete walls, granite, limestone and marble veneers. It also includes extensive lighting and water features. It is scheduled to be completed around November 1st, 2011. See pictures in the Schools & Gov’t section under the Portfolio tab.

Tyonek Addition Complete

FBC, Inc. just recently completed another addition to Tyonek Manufacturing in Madison, AL. This addition was about 31,000 sq. ft. Pictures can be seen in the Industrial section under the Portfolio tab.

Independence Tube Demo Work Continues

On April 27, 2011, Independence Tube Corp. was struck by an EF-5 tornado. About 50% of the building was destroyed. Much of the rest of the building needed extensive re-construction. Since April 28th, Fite Building Co. and many other contractors have work hard to get the plant up and running again.

Currently the remainder of the damaged structural steel is being removed along with roofing and siding. Some parts of the structure have already been replaced. Several crews have worked 10 hours a day and six days a week. Many more months of hard work are expected.

Kratos On-Track

The new two story Kratos building at 4906 Research Blvd. in Huntsville is scheduled to be completed in just a few months. A lot of hard work has made this project come together quickly.

Ingalls Harbor Pavilion Nearing Completion

The new Pavilion at Ingalls Harbor is coming together nicely. It is located on Hwy. 20 in Decatur, AL. This new facility has an open floor plan with two giant fire places on each end.

North AL Center for the Arts

The concrete foundation drill piers for The North AL Center for the Arts are now complete. Currently concrete grade beams are being placed. Steel erection is schedule to start in about a week. It will be exciting to see this project come out of the ground in downtown Decatur, AL.  

FBC, Inc. awarded Madison County Veterans Memorial

Today, Fite Building Co., Inc. learned that it was awarded the contract for the Madison County Veterans Memorial. This 1.8 million dollar project is expect to be complete in October of 2011.

N. AL Center for the Arts Groundbreaking Held

A ground breaking ceremony for the North AL Center for the Arts was held today, December 10th. The event included representatives from Athens State University, Calhoun Community College, The City of Decatur, The Morgan County Commission, The State Board of Education and more. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2012.

Fite Building Co. Nominated for Ethics

For the second year in a row, Fite Building Co., Inc. received a nomination for marketplace ethics from the Better Business Bureau of North AL. Mike Brown accepted the nomination award on November 18th at the BBB awards luncheon in Huntsville, AL.

FBC, Inc. Receives Excellence In Construction Awards

FBC, Inc. was recently awarded three Excellence in Construction awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors. The awards were for the Systems Software Engineering Annex Phase II project, the AEgis project and for the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy project.
